I believe Dave Weckl to to be the finest drummer of all time.
As a measure of just how good he is when you acclimatise your brain to what he is actually playing then contrast and compare to other superlative drummers, it becomes apparent that Weckl is operating on an entirely different plane.
The definitive measure of what is possible on a drum kit.

@Firestarter30fly This solo is "safe" to Dave Weckl because no other drummer can PLAY it. He doesn't merely think and play outside the box. He's completely broken the mold.

@Firestarter30fly You have no idea of what you are talking about. None. Dave Weckl not only plays outside the box, he plays in another dimension. The syncopation, the ostinati, the endless plethora of rhythms he can pull out, his amazing chops and technique, his musicality. You didn't hear it? That's what I thought. Get the fuck outta here.
