PBA membership should not exempt a bowler from contempt when he demeans the game by his behavior. Quite the opposite. Such a member should be held to a more stringent standard. But then, the PBA isn't the same entity it used to be.

@SolRecon Yeah... uh, not so much. Since accuracy isn't the necessity it once was that's not it. Valid pins don't bounce off the sideboard to knock out a pin on the opposite side of the deck. The strike zone has opened up like the southern U.S. border. And the once prestigious PBA membership no longer signifies excellence, for it's not the same entity as it was. To not knock a bowler who demeans the game simply because he's a PBA member is absurd.

@SolRecon When PBA members, or anyone else, exhibit behavior that demeans the game they bring ire upon themselves. Do the conditions require this behavior? If so something's desperately wrong with the game. In addition, it is NOT the same PBA that brought the top bowlers together for televised competition prior to Wide World of Sports. Today's PBA is relegated to cable, unable to secure enough sponsorship for network television. Predictably the PBA membership often reflects the management.

@20alphabet Let's not knock on PBA members, they are there because they are wickedly accurately, regardless of how they look on before the foul line. I do agree with some things you are saying though, so don't think that I'm against that. Lane Dressings for todays leagues at some houses are idiotically easy, however shots on the tour do require the same accuracy as before with additional factors such as violent breakdown. Players have found out how to create area to help them in that regard.

@pokemon989359 Take another look at Barry Asher. I realise there's a dearth of video on him, but more should be on the way within the next couple months. What Chris Barnes does the equipment today allows him to do. Barry could make a hard rubber ball do everything the new balls do for you. Chris can't. Using the same ball, Barry could adjust to any lane condition. Chris can't. Now if Chris Barnes had learned the game prior to it's descent he may have developed the goods, maybe not. Few have.

@20alphabet Can I just say one thing? You had something comparing Jason Couch to Mike Aulby. Jason Couch's pushaway is less than desirable, his swing is too steep and he can't change his axis rotation to save his life. Comparing Chris Barnes to Barry Asher? What are you smoking? Chris Barnes is practically bowling's Adonis. He game is pretty much the new model for perfect form. His head is steadier, his release is cleaner, he has the most power with the least effort, he does thing we just can't.

@SolRecon That's gotta be one of the most ridiculous thoughts on the matter yet. Track & field is one of the areas where performance enhancing drugs is a virtual necessity to be competitive. However, bowling is not. You seem to be oblivious to the difference in pins, balls, and lanes from forty years ago. The equipment is where the inflated scores are generated, NOT the participant. Compare Barnes with Barry Asher, Jason Couch with Mike Aulby and you can easily see who has superior technique.

@20alphabet Yeah at that point it was also impossible to see sprinters go under 10.00 in the 100 meters... Now look at where that sport is. Players constantly push themselves to their limits and the bar is raised every day. Thinking that just because few people were able to bowl 300's before and so many can now just shows how ignorant you are to the drive that sports cause. Players everyday push themselves harder and harder. Players in all sports continue to surpass their descendants.

Its quite obvious that this is fake. The only one who can do it is maximum Bob!
It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's Michael Fagan's bowling ball!
