I feel sorry for female vocalists because it seems that they get pigeonholed a lot more than male vocalists. Just because Joanna and Laura both have a high range and quirky phrasing doesn't mean they are the same or that one is ripping the other off. They both have completely different voices.
The only similarity to me is the way that Laura fingerpicks her guitar is similar to how a harp harp but that's a technique, not an artistic invention.
