She even managed to fulfill a fan's request by singing a portion of 'Stoney End' spontaneously ... or did she??? Taken from the forthcoming DVD Box Set 'Barbra Streisand: The Concerts' to be released in North America on 28th April 2009.

I was at the October 11, 2006 Concert at Madison Square Garden, and this bit was a little different. Rehearsed or not, it was clearly entertaining and the audience enjoyed it. It is no small thing to stand up in front of thousands of people and entertain them. When she breaks into song at the end, who can deny that voice? Have a little gratitude for the people who put themselves out there to be grilled. It takes courage to step up onto a stage. I find her engaging and loving here.

I too love Barbra, but this was the only hit she had with old-school R&B. It wasn't her genre but I always wanted more of it (that bass line!).
Damn the lyrics (which are great, though dated) and her age: She's an actress! In 2006 she could have really nailed it.
I wish Beyonce would do this on a Motown tribute album.
