my 60gb got the ylod
real failure is 10% for 60gb
it's was dropped to about 2%for 80gb and until now 0%for slim:p
xbox360 started from 54.2%,41%,eventually reached 10% in 2009 not too bad after 4 yrs with 3 yrs extended warranty

there is no noise and it blows a hell alot off heat out which is a good thing put it this way my fat 40 gig ps3 is like a jet when it over heats

O i guess it doesnt then, same here i have a 60gb that got the ylod, TWICE. The first time i took it to some store called GameForLess, theyll fix it for 70$, they told me it overheated thats why i thought lol. But then like 3 weeks after it got the ylod again >:(
This time going for the slim too :)

lol, it won't. I've had my Fat 60gb on for about 3 days straight, played games and all and it didn't overheat... and I'm in Florida with a busted AC so that should tell you something. It does get hot but no overheating.
Planning on getting a slim however because my ps3 EVENTUALLY did get the YLoD. Most 60gb's get it after a while. Want the slim to be safe.

i agree with you to some extent. im a hardcore ps3 fan, i have never owned an xbox console before like 2 years ago. ps2 and ps1 was the only console i ever had. and when i got my 360 everything was fine. its still fine. if you dont have it in a tight corner it will run fine. the only thing is that you have to pay for everything, like you said. with ps3, you get almost everything for free, well besides the gamestuff and themes but online is free. home is free. so right now, PS3 is the winner imo
