One of the last performances Janis Joplin performed with Big Brother and the Holding Company, on the Saturday night variety TV show "The Hollywood Palace" (11/2/68). Performing the songs "Summertime" and "I Need A Man To Love."

Big laugh ! Guitars are not even plugged ! And they do exactely the same as in the studio rec, But at least this godamn voice's not fake. She drive me crazy !

I see people mentioning that the band is faking it to a recording, which they obviously are, but Janis' vocals sound very different then they did on the record. Bands on tv in those days almost always lip-synced, and I've never heard of performing to a tape while the singer is live, but that seems to be the case here.

Here is a fun fact: The Drummer, Dave Getz, he was my music teacher in High School. It was pretty awesome, and a couple times he'd guest drum and we'd jam to Piece of my Heart.
