These are the BBC Christmas Lectures. They have a very long and respected tradition of introducing children to science, and the standard has always been high. See if you can find those by Bragg.

I love the fact that the audience, which has many children in it, is listening so intently to Dawkins!

He is a master explainer. I think what makes him particularly special is that he does publish one book for scientists, and another for laypeople - he just writes one (as opposed to Stephen Hawking, for example). He never dumbs-down the concepts, he just makes an effort to say things clearly. If only more scientists did the same thing, for then I feel more people would have greater interest in Science.

All this is rational thought. It doesn't state that the church is meant to manipulate. I believe it has been used for that, but don't swing to polar opposite that all religion is evil. People used to believe the Earth was flat, this is a silly belief. A dangerous belief, but it doesn't mean anything other that people have not let go of this one yet.
You are just ahead of your time :)

I am young, but the thought of making a change is daunting... and seems impossible....
Thank you btw for posting these, also I have come to the conclusion that religion is just here to confuse the masses and keep them occupied and happy, while the 'puppeteers' as it were, are breeding us in much the same way the the spiders web is 'bred'.
I need to write all these idea down... lol
THANKS AGAIN

Because we live under a capitalist system of econmics that exploits human labour for profit.

Are we trapped? No, we are not ALL trapped...but some people are!
Not in a physical cage, but a mental, and socially controlled cage, which sets us standards, and morals, rights, and wrongs...
WAKE UP! LIVE LIFE! WE ONLY GET ONE SHOT!

Why do we live in a society of people who are so caught up in earning money and working day to day and being fed morals and truths from myths and fables, that we do not have time to experience the beauty and constantly evolving UNIVERSE which we are surrounded by?
Dawkins makes it extremely simple, that's what I like most about his books. He just has a way with words that makes everything so easy to understand.

When will we stop clinging onto the past?
Setting our standards to a book which was written thousands of years , and possibly edited in between?
