Fred Watson has been Astronomer-in-Charge at the Anglo-Australian Observatory (AAO) since 1995. He has pioneered work on optical fibres used in todays optical telescopes. His lifelong interest in the stars has led him on a long and entertaining scientific career, including weekly astronomy segments on radio. In this Masterclass, filmed at University of Western Sydney (UWS) Observatory, Fred Watson presents his Stargaze talk to a group of students from Western Sydney Region schools, and is interviewed about his work, current space happenings and the future of Australian astronomy.
