Another interesting tradition in a Nyonya Wedding is the tea ceremony. This is the one time in any family gathering you get to see the 3 to 4 generation of relatives coming in full attendance to join in the joyous occasion.

  • It is indeed, except now only the elite or those wanting a exotic wedding does the rituals.

    The comforting thing is it does raise some great awareness to our Nyonya heritage.

  • Mother are called ebu or nia, and father are called ah tye in the olden days. That's how my mum called her parents.

  • Why is the photographer telling everyone what to do in the ceremony?? Shouldn't the photographer be the observing and capturing it rather than directing it....
