Christy Hale discusses her book, The East-West House: Noguchi's Childhood in Japan, published by Lee & Low Books, and the artistic beginnings of the biracial sculptor, Isamu Noguchi. During his early years Isamu had the opportunity to meld his dual heritage in the design of a house featuring both Eastern and Western architectural elements.

Thank you for sharing this. I am doing a report on this book and it's interesting to hear the artists process and her thoughts on the book.

A beautiful story about finding one's way and a stunning book! It affirms each child's unique place in the world and makes a lovely gift. So interesting to discover the artist's creative process. Almost as intriguing as Noguchi's own.
