Gaza Doctor - Israel

In the final hours of the Gaza war, Israeli tank shells slammed into Doctor Abuelaishs home killing half of his family. His tragic phone call to Channel 10 Israel has become a symbol of the war worldwide.

Izzeldin Abuelaish is a Palestinian doctor, working at hospitals in Gaza and Israel. During the Israeli attacks he was providing regular phone updates to Israeli television on life in Gaza. Dr Abuelaish was suppose to give us an interview that day, tells Channel 10 Israel presenter Oshrat Kotler. But nothing prepared them for the phone call they received. Viewers were transfixed as presenter Shlomi Eldar held up a phone live on air for 5 minutes listening to the outpouring of grief. My God! What have we done to them? Abuelaishs niece and three of his daughters had just been killed. I wanted to try and save them but they died from head wounds immediately. This broadcast delivered something Israelis hadnt experienced before, a real account of life in Gaza under Israeli attack.

I just love how they call it a war at 3:20 in this video ! they did NOT send any medics ...that man had to walk 1/2 mile carrying his wounded daughter ! war used again at 9:20 ...12:05 laughable if not such a sickening lie ..this Doctor needs to choose his friend more wisely..... what a total piece of propaganda once again for so called "israel" ..

We must learn the lessons of peace from this man who has suffered so much personal tragedy but refuses to hate or to give up on his vision of hope, reconciliation and love. This doctor has the hand of God upon him. May his work be blessed and his children live to see the fulfillment of his dreams

I recommend reading "I Shal Not Hate" authored by Dr. Izzeldin Abulaish. It not only gives the reader into his lifetime of suffering and overcoming the impossible. Its give the reader an insight into the darkness of humankind but using peace (and medicine) to overcome it.
