On February 29, 2012, Dr. Jason Johnson took part in a teaching training seminar at the Amerikazentrum Hamburg. He delivered a speech on the importance of the Internet and Social Media for political campaigns in the United States.
In his presentation, he described the development from using emails for the first time in Bill Clinton's campaign in 1992, the first fundraising websites of John McCain in 2000, Howard Dean as the forerunner of web based campaigns in 2004, and the major change through Social Media for the 2008 campaigns.
