This commercial is from the era when DRQ was considered a "Rhythmic AC" - meaning they played current dance and pop songs mixed with disco and other old school. Later on they added some more mainstream pop - it was rather jarring to hear them call themselves "Detroit's Dance Music Station" and then play "I Don't Want To Wait" by Paula Cole, but it was the closest thing Detroit had to a true mainstream CHR/Top 40 at the time.
