"I wouldn't take my past life, for my weight in gold". Great lyrics. Great blues.

This song hurts me and I relate to it because I grew up in poverty and everything that Brownie speaks about has happened to me. There's something about Sonny and Brownie's music that reaches deep into my very soul and connects me to their music. There will never be another Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee.

Seeing them one night at the Ash Grove in LA (opening for the Chambers Bros.), as a teenager, was what turned me on to the Blues for life!

Still relevant in 2009!

Brownie McGhee played a mean axe and Sonny Terry was a virtuoso on the harp. I heard these two fussed alot but somehow they made great music. Whatever works I guess.
