I done everything you said and fitted in the battery but the iphone 3g screen does not turn on. The phone however is on as the vibrate buttion works. All i can see is a black screen i.e no part off the screen is working. Could anyone help me and address the issue i seem to be having and what steps i should take to correct it thanks

@sephiroth727 so you take it to the apple store and charge you $200

I let a freind of mine replace my battery in my iphone and he forced the ribbon down in the locking mechanism and now my speaker and wifi do not work...! Ugh!

Wow, that was a b!tch... but got it done thanks to you. Couple tricky parts for me was removing the battery (it's really stuck there), while reassembly make sure I am able to reinsert the sim card (so make sure replace mobo as low as possible), and the damn camera screw, I had to use scotch tape because my screwdriver was not magnetic. The #3 tape wasn't as bad actually!

Just finished it! Works great! Thank you!!!

Yes, this video was helpful, thank you! Was just wondering if it might help to have the Step black bar at the very top so that part of the phone (including where some of the work is done) is not blocked somewhat.

Easy as 123!
Ya, it's pretty easy to damage the phone doing this, so be careful, be very gentle with the white tab holding down ribbon 3. And be careful with all the ribbons! Too much tension and it'll rip easily.
Lift directly up on the tabs, never try to pry them off, go directly up and if you slip, it's ok, try again, no harm. If you pry, it'll scratch the traces up.
that's insane... why would apple make things so hard...
