As an American student of music, I apologize for the ignorance of my countrymen. You have every right to listen to Gershwins's music, as we have every right to listen to the wondrous music of Ralph Vaughn Williams. Music was meant as a way of bridging the gap between cultures and nations, and is the only true universal language. Again, I sincerely apologize.

It's taken me 5 months to try and understand the level of stupidity you must have been working on to state something so ridiculous. I am still no closer. Instead, I'll just ask:

1. What evidence do you have that Europeans steal more music than (I'm assuming) Americans?

2. What does "copping an attitude" have to do with it?

3. If it's public domain, how is it stealing at the same time?
