@kiantorbi Iran has many different ethnicities. Armenians, Assyrians, Jews, Kurds, etc. Persian is the main ethnicity in Iran. Iranian would be the Nationality. Just like in the United States. No one's ethnic background is "American" but if you are a citizen or born there, then American is your Nationality. This is not a hard concept to learn, yet a lot of people question the whole Persian/Iranian thing. You should always try educating yourself before you ask ignorant questions.

Look at it this way: Iranians call themselves Persians, because Persia was mostly associated with, art, music, glory, poetry and many other positive attributes. But since the revolution, Iran has been associated with... ( well U know the rest ). It only means that he or she wants to be known as a fun loving person, without being labeled as terrorist or ... @pari6661 thats weird cuz i thought theres no country called "persia" so why would ppl say their persian? it makes no sense :( persia was once a very large place.. thats y im soo confused.. r iranians ashamed of being called iranian so they say they r persians? no offence but its weird... and y r all persians rich? i heard that when ur born in "persia" they give u an oil field that u can sell on your 18th bday. is that true? i dated a persian girl once she was from syria. she was soo pretty :)
