I would be interested in seeing more on this. he miscategorizes this base as one of Americas largest military bases. It is leased from British and is more of a weigh station used as a repair facility, fueling point etc. I would also think that with Global Warming - a bigge issue here - this Sand bar ( it has no elevation) will be underwater soon, an even sadder fact for any people who have been displaced.

No, he did state that the islands were a British territory. But the US navy dumped hundreds of millions or even billions building the base after it was cleared of all indigenous people. Somewhat like the US tried to do at Vieques Island south of Puerto Rico.

You seemed to have missed the fact that the B-2 Stealth Bomber and the B1-B strategic bomber used in Iraq where deployed from Diego Garcia. If the sea rises to cover Diego Garcia it will also cover Miami and the most of the Gulf coast

At first, the Poms had any native that was ill, sent to Mauritius for medical treatment. Upon arriving there, they were not allowed to return to Diego Garcia. Then the Limies told the natives that the island was sinking and for their own well being they would have to go to Mauritius. In Mauritius, they are "displaced persons". They have no citizenship and they have no legal rights. They won a Supreme Court case allowing them to return home to die, but Her Royal Lowness over-ruled the decision.
