The video is dedicated to all those who gave their lives in the Arab Israeli war. I posted the video because smaller wars like this tend to be overshadowed in history by wars like: WWII, WWI, Vietnam, ect.

@Wazztheweasel I think you've got the 1948 war mixed up with future wars in the arab-israeli conflict, throughout the war the U.S maintained an arms embargo on the Arabs as well as the Israelis thats why most weapons were actually left over from british (because of the left-overs from the British mandate of Palestine). U.S and U.S.S.R backed countries was later on when the cold war got well :p colder the U.S.S.R even put ground troops against the Israelis at one point.

@Wazztheweasel the u.s. never entered the arena till after the 67 war when the french embargoed israel for arab oil.then golda meir secured american arms in exchange for israel keeping the area from falling into commie hands.and israeli hard earned intelligence on russian tactics and arms ,for example the first soviet mig fighter to be seen by western hands intact with the pilot.and a soviet radar system complete only crew not included .a mutual bond and frindship between israel and the great us
