ye ye pushback machine does the same...
-
mmmmm i smell burning clutch
-
@JaguarXFR666 No problem man! Such things happen to all of us...
Much more important is that you have the courage to apologize for that!
I have to admit, I was in a bit of a rage too... You know, I saw your comment and thought "Oh no, another boy who thinks that he knows the world". That was wrong. I'm sorry man!
Have a nice day!
-
@MrLowAltitude ok "man piriod" was in acruate.. ..it was more of a family issue that, so i took it out on the first avalianble thing and that was your comment....
-
@MrLowAltitude ok your righ, i'm 18. I'm not usualy this bad, i was on my "man piriod when i was responding to your comments, and i openly apologize for my comments
The term Boy, is for people under 15, where as Adolessent is for 16 - 19
there for, no one (exept my fater) has the right called my that since in most places age 16 is when you get out of the term "boy"
Have a good and happy life
Piece out
-
@JaguarXFR666 1st: Well, your profile says that you're 18 and a student. So why shouldn't I think that you're 18? Better write the correct age in your profile, BOY!
2nd: That's true. But this it's physically imopssible to pull more than 155kN with a car.
-
@fearmeyo Q7 V12 has more torque than Touareg.
-
@MrLowAltitude Ha ha Boy... ...really, 1st off You assume I'm younger than you?
Better learn to not go around assuming people are younger than you. 2nd i have been on a plane enough to know how good the brakes are, hense if there was a care able to do just that feet, it would be impressinve.. now i'm off to do more important things than argue with you, but before i go i will apologise for calling you stupid, i was in a bit of a bad mood due to some curent life problems
-
@JaguarXFR666 Sorry, my bad. But listen boy, you don't have to call me stupid just because I got somethign wrong. It's pathetic to insult others on the internet you know.
Back to topic: It would be impossible to pull it with brakes applied. Those brakes are made to withstand full thrust of both engines during engine run up which means a force of 155kN. If you know, what this means...
-
@MrLowAltitude ok you are as stupid as i though you were... ... i never said it wouldn't work with the breaks off... ...i simply said it would be harder if near impossible to drag the plane with the breaks on... ...if you had read my comment properly we wouldn't be having this conversation
-
@iggibars I sure saw that. But I thought you take the manufacturer rating as the maximum possible tow force which is wrong. Because tow force isn't equal to tow capacity.
Man, I know that towing vehicles have a very low gearing. I drove them with an F/A-18 attached behind...
All I wanted to say: It's not a problem to pull such an airplane with a good SUV. Jet tires have a very low rolling friction (High tyre pressure) so it's much easyer to move a 40ton jet than a 40ton truck trailer.
-
well thers airplane tractors for that kind of job, i thought that audi will show some acceleration with those plane on it's ass...
-
You should've figured out that I was using it to compare against standard tow ratings from the manufacturer. Also, special jet tugs are made in tall gearing. That's why they don't need a lot of power to pull heavy things. They just focus on added weight(like a forklift) and gearing. They use tall gearings to their advantage. How do you think one of those tiny little things can pull a DreamLiner?
-
@iggibars But: It works! Do you know why they max out at 2x,xxx pounds? Because of their weight and the brakes. There are regulations of how heavy a trailer can be depending on the towing vehicle weight. On low speeds they could pull much more!
I worked for the Swiss Air Force. We have towed the 55,000 pound F/A-18 with only 150hp and arounf 3tons of vehicle weight. No problem at all!

-
@JaguarXFR666 Uhm... This actually works. You can pull a 40ton airplane with a good SUV. Read my comment on the top and watch this: /watch?v=05zRyoBbcfI
-
To all of you who say that this doesn't work. Watch this: /watch?v=05zRyoBbcfI
It DOES work. You have to know that there's a huge difference between pulling the 40ton Superjet or pulling a truck trailer with the same weight. Aircraft tires are inflated with 12-18 bars. They have a much lower rolling friction than a regular trucktrailer.
I worked for the Swiss Air Force. The pulling trucks for our 25ton F/A-18 only had 150hp and ~3 tons of weight.
-
i like diesel engines because when petrol ends i will still ride
-
I saw on a reality tv show a man pulled a plane with his teeth
google it.
a v12 big deisel engine should have impressive torque but this is a stupid example.
drag a range rover side ways !
-
smh wow thats so great have you even seen a man pullin a plane i have
-
@joshuwa88 well.. if and only if the care was strong enough to drag it, and i know enough to that it it would not move, unless the vehicle some how managed to drag it regardless :S so that more realistic part of what i was trying to say was completely turning off the engeins lol
-
@joshuwa88 The SUKHOI Superjet 100, which is the jet being towed by the Q7 in this video, weigh about 110,000 pounds. Yes, you are correct, it is light. Every car on earth should be able to pull that. Get real! Even the most heavy-duty consumer grade trucks(not industrial grade!) max out at around 2X,XXX pounds. This is family hauler that's pulling a 110,000 pound jet!
-
@JaguarXFR666 If the breaks were on, it wouldn't move. I could could show you with a basic physics equation. But true, it would be impressive.
-
@iggibars "I know they aren't light per say" that means relative to my comparison. A typical train CAR weights 150 tons. Compare that to the little jet at 90klb. I'm the idiot?
@shayankilla123 a Volkswagen Touareg pulled a boeing 747...
fearmeyo 4 weeks ago 11
I can do that with a Pajero from 1992...;)
