Prop 8 galvanized our community like nothing ever before. We took our anger to the streets and we will take to the streets again on October 11, 2009 at 12:00 noon. Hope to see you all in D.C. as we DEMAND equal protection under the law in all 50 states governed by civil law. Photos from various protests, marches and rallies in Dallas, Texas. Speech delivered by Cleve Jones at the September 20, 2009 Alan Ross Freedom Rally in Dallas, Texas.

  • no the anti gay rights agenda is doing that

  • straight people can marry the person they love

    gays cant

  • actually despite what you may think mrstandforantiamerica

not every gay person is a pedophile, nor the other way around

  • Its amazing how 'haters' invite themselves into spaces that really only should be filled with LOVE, EQUALITY and ACCEPTANCE. Qualities that each and every human being could use a little more of. At the end of the day we are all 'human' and should be the kind of beings that ALL the children of our earth can admire.

  • Interesting how the word "hate" crept in, not true. Our fathers have cherished the definition of "marriage" as a man/woman w/children for years, and now people hate that definition. Hate is when Mormons, in the 1800's, were thrown in jail when they practiced polygamy. Mormons will not be silenced.

  • I love this version of Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now. Who is singing it?

  • what umrlih? all kids don't chose their parents anyways...you think children chose whether their straight parents are alcoholics or drug addicts no? At least gay people are able to create a healthy nurturing environment.

  • Umr, it's already legal for gay and lesbian people to adopt children. It's been legal for decades in most places. You know, my family did our adoption (it's called a second parent adoption) in 1989. That's 20 years ago. So I don't know why people like to pretend that gay and lesbian adoption is a new thing, or that it's related to same sex marrige in some way. It's not even related. LGBT people have been adopting kids for way longer than they've had the right to marry.

  • Firstly, being gay doesn't make you a piece of shit.

Secondly, If they are adopting a child, that means the child has already been abandoned, and is probably in care where gay people are allowed to work anyway. On top of that, being in care is one of the worse things a child can endure, you'd prefer that rather than a loving gay family?

  • Nobody cares what two pieces of shit do after closed doors. But this is about whether they can legally adopt a kid, the kid has no right to choose.
