In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Excellent & VERY interesting presentation, Alyssa. I watched it twice .. once by myself & once with my 25-year-old daughter who also (meaning as did I) found it to be interesting and inspiring. (I'm betting you will agree with me when I say that the people here that are focusing in negative ways on semantics are probably the most sexually repressed people among us.) I was raised to have a lot of shame around sex & I can honestly say that I have a feeling this video may have changed my life : )

except, a sheep cannot give consent. It has no ability to consent to the sexual intercourse.

I agree with porn, but no bestiality. No consent, no sex.

are you talking about the excessive reproduction in 3rd World countries? Or people having sex with the people they want to? Or rape within marriage? Being more specific would be very helpful.

I find the declaration that other's actions "have nothing to do with you" (as opposed to the fact that the amalgamation of individual actions which make up a culture very MUCH affects if not dictates the individual's dominant reality) to be contrary to pretty much all of psychology and sociology.

Porn is not a good thing. Porn is very, very bad indeed. Im an atheist, male, use porn and solidly believe it is bad for me, for my mond and for my relationships. It creates a massive industry which draws a lot of inocent yong or desperate girls into a pretty hidious life and a 'job' that noone should wish on their daughters. All that money poured into the porn industry, where might it go if it didnt exist. As said, crisis, but billions spent on sex toys n porn.OK,compare the dosh spent on thepoor

She appropriately left the church out but, what happened to G-d?

"Shame" is subordinate to conscience, has conscience been rendered moot?

Is conscience/shame one in the same? Sex is a powerful drug and with all things, has its place. Some interesting points, the application questionable~is TED becoming a sex advocate? Does it need advocating? The statistics noted were interesting, the principal need not be reduced 2 a 3 letter subject to the exclusion of other applications. Sad, disappointing

In which manner is this talk naive and irresponsible? Also what is a "healthy sexuality" and "deviant sexuality", based upon your opinions, of course?

Porn is the driver for human trafficking and child sex abuse. Just because you are not aware of the harm does not mean it is harmless. This talk is naive and irresponsible, because it fails to define the boundaries of healthy sexuality and the impact of deviant sexuality on mental health and communities.

There is a public health issue here to which you seem quite oblivious.
