Once you pick up a gun, they won't let you put it down no more; there are no borders just here and there.
My oppressed and oppressive sides both quit and went for a beer..."God doesn't know me anymore"...

Out in the country side the dogs of war-send the child soldiers first thats what their for...
Its christmas eve in the city but no one cares...
God doesn't know us anymore...

(chorus)

Jai Jai says its christmas eve tonight
Jai Jai said just leave it here
Jai Jai said its christmas eve tonight
Jai Jai said lets pretend we didn't hear...

The boys are doing heroin; Its christmas eve -she's the heroine, out on the ramparts -out to sea
I don't know what language she spoke, never heard a scottish brogue with no teeth before
Spitting gin on all fours crawling along the street
The cop was beside her - whistling and shouting at her...
God doesn't know us anymore...

(play Chorus)

No one chooses to be poor, not having money for food and having to whore; the kids are ashamed its christmas eve.
Its the one night from the drunk tank to the tavern to the poor house-where miracles do happen and all want to believe

(play chorus)

  • well brad, it ain't jingle bells.....thank goodness. this one kills, and that is a good thing. love the guitar riffs. be well friend, chuck.

  • @chuxtrux Hey-chuck...I have a few days off and will catch up on your channel and a few others I have been missing ....I built the song in three different parts-met a girl from mainline china named Jai Jai and wrote the chorus-then had to go to the city a little bit back for medical stuff and got the street scence-then heard a debate on poverty and this right wing guy suggesting people choose to be poor

  • Another great song in the collection Brad, lyrics hit the spot. Merry christmas

  • Another astounding song that cuts right to the core. Christmas isn't a good time for most folks I know, me included. Amazing how those ads on TV don't reflect real life. I love you, bro, you're my heart and also the heart of so many of us. Sorry to hear the news you got from the docs. I burn the sage for you and keep you in my daily prayers. You and your family stay strong, keep sight of hope. Will PM you. Love, Suze

  • Experience is a hard teacher~

Because she gives the test first~

    And the lesson afterward....

#88 is another emotionally charged piece of reality that you have painted such a incredible view thru your music~

    Much Peace & Love, Paula
