Well, long version is for tennis masochists. This is as short as possible, with aces direction counted and final statistics at the end.

This match was played as opening single of Davis cup
semifinal Croatia-Czechia 18.9.2009 and took 5 hours 58 minutes.

Karlovic improved his own record in aces in one match
from 55 to 78.That's 19 games if u need 4 points for
each.But lost 7-6,6-7,6-7,7-6,14-16 tho.

This match stayed just one game from most games in a
singles match since tiebreakers
record (83) with 82 games played.

This is just compilation of Karlovic's aces

  • dude....someone should make one of the Isner match from Wimbledon....that would be nuts

  • @tennispwner101 lol...i don't have that match...insane

  • its weird how his serve didn't crush stepaneks mental ability. cauzs stepanek isnt known as having the best mentality in the game.

  • In Davis cup he is known as big warrior.

  • @illogicalman21 That's an apt screen-name.

  • @illogicalman21 Yeah but Karlovic also had 48 service winners in addition to the 78 aces. Stepanek only had like 18 aces so Karlovic had 30 more unreturnable serves.

  • its also quite impressive to note that karlovic hung in there for so long, as a big guy like him, he has fatigue issues. but it seems he was fit enough to prolong this match. i think he gets better with age. hes starting to win some rare five setters now, like against blake (2 sets to 0 down) and got the revenge against stepanek at aussie open.

  • yeah winners flying off his racquet in rallies or vollies. they dont bode well for karlovic as he isnt capable of toe to toeing with that shit. but he did well to stretch the match for a long time with that serve.

  • Also, Stepanek served as many service winners as Karlovic had aces. It amounted to the same thing.

  • yeah i suppose so. theyre both fucking up each others heads IMO, it was only a matter of time.

This isn't intended to be hostile, but while Stepanek isn't really known for any particular part of his game being spectacular, he's number 13 in the world. He's also a serve and volleyer.

He must have some serious mental toughness to do so well that way.
