I have a AMC tape from Monday June 13,1983 that has that GH PROMO with a OLTL Promo with Delilah saying to doctor Vernon she keeps lying and lying to bo and she can't stop then the gh promo exact 1 u have with eon aired next abc usually only aired 2 15 second promos for 2 soaps or 1 full 30 second promo for 1 of there shows,they briefly tried carrying 3 soaps in 1 30 second spot in dec 1983 but they did not do it for long.....

wfaa never carried edge live off the network feed,the aired the show when it first premiered on ABC at 10am on a time delay,wfaa had a very successful 3pm movie they did not want to touch that (in Texas the abc lineup was 1130-330 central time) at 1 point between 1977-1980 wfaa dropped edge and never picked it up again ,I don't know if it was seen on a uhf station in the area or with a strong antenna may be u could pick up another ABC station in the state that carried the show.....

ktrk I do not think ever carried the edge of night during it's 9 year run on ABC,KTRK was owned by the same company that owned wpvi they were abc affiliates during the time in 1985 abc acquired these stations in a merger with capital cities capital cities ran a tight operation but there loyalty to there employees was unbelievable,that is way change at these stations was very rare and most employees have worked there whole lifetime there,in 1995 Disney acquired abc and capital cities.....

in the areas it was seen it was a powerhouse in ny it was the #2 soap behind gh yet 171 miles away it was struggling for a audience at 1030 in the morning on uhf independent station ch 48 wkbs which went off the air aug 29,1983 but it's licensed was renewed in 1992 and it now shows the trinity broadcast station 24 hours a day,in its heyday ch 48 did very well with popular syndicated shows in early fringe and movies at night at a time there was no cable tv in the area.....

if u have any other edge promos could u post them I really enjoy watching them because they aired at a time when as u have said yourself ABC really knew how 2 promote there product,ch 6 really did a great job blocking edge promos out although they did let some slip by espically when edge promos rarely aired during RH and AMC I have 2 admit they really got aggresive blocking them out in early 1981 B4 that they semmed a little bit more lax and several edge promos would slip by daily.....

edge by late 1984 ABC announced it was now losing money producing the show with proctor and gamble ABC owned all it's other soaps and cancelled the soap it's last episode aired 12/28/1984.ABC announced it was returning the half hour to it's affiliates 2 program as they wish and hoped to have the hour reprogrammed by 1985,but it never happened and the saga continues.....

they claimed not showing edge was not personal they were just contractually bound to start the merv griffin show at 4pm and they did not want to be bothered with taping the show on a time delay,within a year edge clearance rate was down to 62 percent and by mid 1984 abc had even stopped promoting the show which I noticed right away because there were less ch 6 ads and more soap ads especially during "gh" because the norm 4 ABC was to promote the soap before and after it
