  • Yes, this is the MAK in Vienna. I really liked the show...

  • I like this kind of an art.

But it would be much more artistic with cow shit instead of red paint.

  • But why not just accept that many people like it, but it's just not for you. I don't like a lot of conceptual/modern art, but that's just my opinion and I can accept that many people genuinely like what I don't see anything in. I like Kapoor and that doesn't mean I have no taste, am following the masses, or am deluded.

  • meanwhile.. in Africa..

  • @tiborpiri It ain't paint... it is wax

  • Everyone who complains that shooting red paint into a corner isn't art... YOU'RE ALL WRONG!!!!!

because it's red wax, not red paint

  • so if you shoot paint into a corner you can call yourself an artist....

  • If you got the name to go with your art then you can sell anything. If I had thought of blasting paint on a wall with a cannon and calling it art, no one would have thought it was special....But it must be cool if Anish Kapoor is duing it! He could have decided to do any random thing and it would have been considered a master piece.

  • @tiborpiri I agree! Monkeys like throwing their crap around and at eachother, I think we should call that art! Its so progressive and cool. To me this guys art is less creative then a cave mans cave painting..

  • amazing!! one of the best performance/installation artists ever.

  • There is a whole story and reason behind this piece of art. If your an outsider your not exactly going to understand i guess, especially if you have a bias view towards contemporary art to begin with. I have just written an essay on this. Its quite interesting what kapoor does in the art world. Also without media and television, only those into art or those that work within the art industry would know about this. i think its great that the general public have the oportunity to see it & interact.

  • I mean...

  • Art has a different meaning to everyone, it could be like you said; 'passion and expression through skill and understanding'.

But to others it could also be something that people enjoy, that reaches out to people.

To be fair, you don't know what was going through the mind of artist when they thought this up. This could be very sentimental.

Just because one person doesn't like it doesn't mean it isn't art.
