  • "Although somtimes associated with the 'Christian Metal' scene, mostly because of the association of Ian Arkley in Seventh Angel; My Silent Wake are expressedly not a Christian band. Some lyrical themes deal with ideas of faith and loss of faith, but in deeply personal ways, and more universally, rather than obivously judeo/christian religous themes."

  • @LadyBabylon7 Yes I agree, I think My Silent Wake are alot more subtle about their themes than other more Christian bands... I think Ashen Mortality was abit more direct as regards expressing a Christian faith.

  • Why so many dislikes? Do you have trolls around your videos? By the way, this song is fantastic and I own the album. It's one of my favorites, along with 'Through Greenest Meadows'. Lately i've been into a lot of Death/Thrash but every now an then I like to listen to Doom Metal. PS: This band is not Christian (at least in metal-archieves it says that).

  • @Doomed928 Yeah at one point I had a bunch of weirdos calling themselves the satanic alliance room stalking my vids, voting them all down... the later stuff I would agree is less Christian orientated but the first album has alot of Christian themes but they could also be broadly interpreted as finding hope; after an extended period of darkness. Through Greenest Meadows is one of my favourite Death/Doom tracks, its pretty cool. You should check out Mourning Beloveth too, they're also awesome!

  • I was not that pleased with within the ancient forest. Although it is one of my absolute favorite books. A Time To Mourn is light years better. Mostly due to Ian's influence. From the pulse pounding "I'm Not To Blame" to the ballady "Live For A Day" It's sheer genius.

  • Was it a book? I never knew that. Within the Ancient Forest does takes a few listens to appreciate!

A Time to Mourn is also a really good album! It is really them at their best!

  • @Theshemproductions Then nail 5E 6A halfnotes then 7G twice as quarters. The first makes it so great.

  • Dude A key is really fun on bass. 2G 1D 2G 2G sounds awesome, but the first two notes must be half notes and last is quarter.I used it on my song:Mein Glock Ez or my bell time.God Bless ya

  • INTRONIUM LOGY:def isn't a metal understanding....Mutiple melodies and changing of keys of equal ranks....One natured victory!Praise Yah,Praise Yah!

  • yo no soy de escuchar el doom metal, pero me ha gustado mucho esta cancion

my silent wake es un buen grupo y mejor aun si es para Dios

  • Oh yeah, It's a short read, but I could not put it down. I read it in one day. It's VERY thought provoking. I would assume Andrew Tompkins still has copies. I have one if you would want one. It's not in the best shape, but it is so good.
