what is the dedicated hardware and software??

Hard to tell in the space available here.

In short it is a Java application taking input from joystick, translating into commands sent to the LIRC server that was configured for LEGO Power Functions. The hardware is a serial cable with a IR led and resistor at its end.

@SvenskFilm2 8043 is fully motorised and rc, 8294 not, u actually have to modify it

Faster than the newer one, but lower torque (strength). When building something like this the main focus is the torque. A smaller gear must be turning a bigger gear.
