been running lathe vertical for a few decades now, never had mud not stay on the wall, Bay Area tested too.

@jackrodus I think you missunderstood my comment. I'v never had a problem quarter turning the wire. Their just as tough to tear out. Even the old greenboard, chickenwire are a bitch. Vertical mud work is becoming a lost art. Any one who calls theirself a "Tilesetter" has to know everything you demonstrated. Thanks for the vids!

@jackrodus ? everybody has there way on lathing has an inspector ever gave you grief,i guess as long as you maintain 6 inch nailing and required overlap on wire no problem you could go horizontel if that floats your boat,Good Job! boat walls are another ballgame

@TilemanSD good eye !

hey good video. I would use diamond lath but it is a pain to carry around and I cut the crap out of myself everytime I cut it. Ill subscribe to your page if you do mine.

Need an estimate, will send an email.
For those of you worried about the direction of the lath, try tearing one out.

If the mud hangs, it hangs. There is nothing structural about lath direction. I've done mud work over lath and scratch as well as 1 step floats. Not here to argue with anyone. I made this short video series to encourage cbu tile guys to give mud a try. Am I the fastest? I highly doubt it. Am I the best? I highly doubt it. Do I encourage others and share what I know? Yes. This is only one method of mud work. The one step float.

How come your metal lath is installed vertically? It should be horizontal with the cups facing up. Just a tip from an old pro.

@TilemanSD Reason? I like to. I've been at mud for 20 years. If you disagree well, I can respect that. I don't need to run my metal horizontally for it to function. Watch all the videos in the series, I explain why I do what I do.
