Watch as the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1 carves up Nurburgring in 7:41.27 - bringing the Camaro neck and neck with the Porsche 911 Turbo S and Lamborghini Murciélago lap times.
The Camaro ZL1 used for the lap was a production-intent model, with no performance modifications, driven by Camaro Performance Engineer Aaron Link.

@AmericanMuscleGuy and the 2013 Gt500 Mustang is going to make 650hp and have a top speed of 200+ mph and cost about the same as the Zl1 now if dodge could put something together it would be the 70's pony wars all over again

dang 172 in a car that cost 54k. Umm ya, this is amazing people never in history has this happened. Cheapest most powerful car ever to be sold, and handles well on the track.

Awesome stuff! Best Camaro ever. Runs world class laptimes at the Ring. Who says American cars can't corner? ZR1, 7:19, Viper, 7:12, and now this stellar Camaro laptime. America has 3 cars in the top 10. Since the Radicals dont have a top or windshield wipers, and the Gumpert is special order only, then America not only has the top regular production car Ring record, but also 9 cars under 8 minutes, It's a new era, and American cars KICK ASS around corners!
