My step-dad and mother on Channel 3 in Connecticut after US Airways refused to refund a ticket that was purchased to fly him home. He was injured and unable to use the ticket (the CT National Guard flew him home with a doctor on board) but US Airways says they wont refund the money for someone who is volunteering to keep their planes terrorist-free.

  • All I am saying is for a guy who has done nothing but serve this country for 20 years though military and fire department service, the least a huge company could do is cut him a break. All this arguing about non-refundable is pointless because we just wont fly US airways anymore. We will fly American or Southwest because they give discounts, free flights, and refunds to wounded US soldiers and their families.

  • non refundable means non refundable...

  • @RaleighG300 Yeah but there are always extenuating circumstances. Its not like we are asking for a refund because we decided to go on a vacation or something, we are asking for a refund because we cant and wont be able to use the ticket. My stepdad was injured almost a year ago and is still in the hospital and it has but an enormous strain on my family so we figured a refund would be the least a corp. could do for a service member

  • thanks for posting some great stuff :))

  • Wao 450 dollars. !!!!

  • @RaleighG300 As much as I hate US Airways, that is true. Non Refundable means Non Refundable

  • @TheLiLD95 don't care if you believe me... I have videos on my page that prove otherwise, but still you sign into a contract, you fulfill that contract. That contract doesn't state, we will refund a non-refundable ticket only if you are military. It was out of the airlines control, could they have just refunded the ticket, yes, but they didn't, sorry about what happened to him but next time buy a REFUNDABLE ticket. This isn't just US AIRWAYS, this could've happened on any US carrier maybe.

  • @ERAUPRCWA Your obviously NOT in the Army and you probably work for crappy "US" Airways. He has been part of the US Army for 15 years and he was seriously injured just a few days before his flight left and the airline has no respect to give him a refund of $400? That is absurd. He is fighting for this country and "US" Air can not even have respect to give him a refund? Absolutely absurd! They should NOT be called "US" Airways because they have no respect for this country!

  • @TheLiLD95 doesn't matter if he was in the Army or not. He signed into a contract and he didn't fulfill that contract so he was penalized. I'm in the Army too and if I miss my flight for ANY reason and I bought a NON REFUNDABLE ticket, I'm not gonna cry when the airline doesn't give me a refund... it's called NON REFUNDABLE for a reason

  • @ERAUPRCWA But he was hurt AND he is in the ARMY and they still won't give a refund? If you miss your flight, that is understandable but he was seriously hurt and he is part of the army and they still say to bad? They have no respect for this country. They should not be called "US" Airways!

  • I'm sorry about your step dad and wish him all the best. But it was a non refundable ticket... I get the circumstances but you bought a specific kind of ticket and you get what you get.
