Government Under Fire as Radiation Is Found in Milk, Rain, Bay Citizen, April 1, 2011:
http://www.baycitizen.org/japan-disaster/story/government-under-fire-radiatio...

Federal officials have still not published any official data on nuclear fallout from Japan disaster

... Radiation from Japan rained on Berkeley during recent storms at levels that exceeded drinking water standards by 181 times and has been detected in multiple milk samples...

Radiation falling with rain can cover grass that is eaten by cows and other animals. It can also fall on food crops or accumulate in reservoirs that are used for irrigation or drinking water. Seafood can also be affected. ...

A rooftop water monitoring program managed by UC Berkeley's Department of Nuclear Engineering detected substantial spikes in rain-borne iodine-131 during torrential downpours a week ago. ...

The levels exceeded federal drinking water thresholds, known as maximum contaminant levels, or MCL, by as much as 181 times. ...

Patty Lovera, assistant director at the nonprofit Food and Water Watch:

"The official mantra from a lot of folks in government is, 'Oh, it's OK in low levels.'"

"But low levels add up. We would like to see a more coherent strategy for monitoring air and water in agricultural areas and then using that data to come up with a plan, if you need one, to go look at the food system."

  • Why is youtube's interface so goofy ? Why do they make it difficult to follow a parted video. You have to chase part 1, part 2, part 3 and they don't follow logically on the left, sometimes they are at the complete bottom and worse, sometimes they are not even there and you have to copy-paste the title and add part 2, part 3 etc. There's no pattern in the video suggestions on the left.

  • @251omega

I don't mind talking over different subjects with people who disagree with me.

I just don't like to be insulted or put down by people who (i guess) are angered by my point of view.

You are wasting everyone's time if you are only 'venting'.

If you get too angry to be civil, take a rest break and come back later. There is plenty of time.

If it is too much trouble to explain your position in a way that "dummies" like me can understand, Don't even bother calling me names, it won't help.

  • I live less than two miles from the reactor core at the Santa Susana Field Testing lab near Simi Valley that melted down in 59 and was never properly cleaned up by Rocketdyne and later Boeing. Now with Japan nobody will listen about where they dumped the shit in the early sixtys that a gieger counter will pick up today if you no where to look adjacent to Sage ranch park. You think im worried about Japan considering where I live. Someone needs to dig more into this.

  • @251omega; I trust what I read from the University of E. Anglia "in context" (full threads- no mistaking it).

Perhaps sadly, I really do know quite a bit. I don't need someone 2 "explain", least of all U.

I also trust what I saw: source code algorithms MEANT 2 deceive, 7 factually incorrect data sets.

I file patents for a living, just got another one of my own granted.

    U have no idea how insipid U R. I don't have time 2 explain it 2 u, & I don't care if U "take me seriously:;-)

  • @joygarner You actually expect to be taken seriously? What is such a STUPID statement, doing in a serious conversation ?

You said: "go sell the carbon tax somewhere else. I suppose you'd also like to abolish the 2nd amendment as well. "

Clearly, critical thinking and analysis, resulting in carefully worded, persuasive arguments, are not your forte.

Don't you care? Since you seem to be 'BLISSFULLY UNAWARE' of your short-comings, Ask someone you TRUST, to explain it to you.

  • @251omega ; yes I agree. the entire carbon tax and trading scheme is a fraud.

  • @joygarner Market-based carbon trading schemes, now being touted in the proposed climate change bill of the Obama administration, while giving handouts to sections of industry give no guarantees of reducing carbon emissions. Figures for the first phase of the European Union scheme (2005-07) show an actual net increase of emissions by 1.9 percent. It has also given a huge opportunity for fraud. 90% of traded emissions could be the result of tax fraud, costing governments more than €5 billion.

  • @joygarner An inquiry into the CRU found “absolutely no evidence of any impropriety whatsoever.” The CRU email referring to using a “trick” did not mean that scientists were dishonest. It was a colloquial expression for a statistical method of combining older tree-ring data dating back over 2,000 years with the thermometer data from the past 150 years. It was published in the journal Nature in 1998, and the difficulties involved in the techniques are well known in climate science. (WSWS.org)

  • @joygarner

First you PUT words in my mouth, then you "refute" those words as if I spoke them.

and you never addressed the issues that I actually posted. Too easy to lose the 'debate', right?.

It is quite easy and convenient to answer your OWN set of issues, though!

AS I SAID IN MY LAST POST ":I'll take responsibility for MY OWN words, BUT NOT FOR YOURS!"
