My best friend of 48 years passed away this morning - he was a brother to me. 55 is some kind of early. Long ago he turned me on to Taj Mahal. And lord, did we ever do a lot of fishing together! Been awhile since we saw Taj! RIP bro! Gonna miss ya! Hope the fishin's good were your at!

I been listening to Taj Mahal (first album I aquired was a double vinyl lp with two sides of "the old folks at home") and I really got into him afterwords. I think your friend is in good hands now. though I´m not extremely religious myself I believe we will all meet again someday somewhere in this mighty universe... regards from europe, germany to be precise

@TheErogenousZone I find it ironic and worthy of mention, too, that rap and hip hop roots did NOT start out this way, and in their beginnings were a very real and promising artform. Now, they are money and fame generators...tools

@TheErogenousZone Well that may be, but I have yet to hear any good hip hop, including hip hop from other cultures. But my ears may be brutally selective, since I particularly enjoy classical and instrumental music. However, I'm not privy to just classical. I'm in the belief that socialistic words and computer-driven artistry is not a prized form of music. Again, in my view, that pretty much sums up hip hop, given their tool set and philosophy.

I First heard this in 1971 Just once . It really has stuck in my head ever since. I looked for a vinyl copy for years but never found it .This is like finding a long lost friend. At the time I'd never heard any thing like it and I still haven't. Thanks!!!!!

Today's hip hop don't have shit on this. This dude can sip on a beer, while holing his fishin' pole and IMPROVISE more talent than those fools can dream up with all of their Roland, Yamaha Motif and Cakewalk music tools. They are NOTHING but record company pawns!

Why the dislikes? I don't get it why people don't find bigger causes to fight rather than rain on other people's parades. If you don't like a song or performance, how about just going and listening to something else?
