Okay, my Marvel knowledge comes more from the movies than anything else, so maybe I'm missing something here, but... let me get this straight. Joe Quesada annulled Peter and MJ's marriage... via the devil... while she was pregnant? And the baby is... not there any more?
So, Joe Quesada had the devil kill a baby for... what reason? What kind of moral is that?!

I don't smoke, I agree completly witht he health risks of smoking. But I don't agree that absolutly no1, even villains, can't smoke. its 2 not inf the readers. these r the same readers who've witnessed Spider-Man's deal witht he devil, Wolverine slicing and dicing ppl and babies being eaten, but hey, at least the nicotene indust isn't getting richer

You are so right on all counts. It's pretty sad when a 30-year comics reader and fan can't find a single decent book to pick up besides the paperback Marvel Masterworks series. The new comic racks are stuffed with incomprehensible garbage month in and month out. Just this past week my local shop owner threw in a free Spider-Man Saga. The fact that Marvel has to produce and distribute a FREE book just to explain what the hell is going on in their current books should tell you something.

Not everything that comes out of Marvel is garbage. There's are a few good titles. I'd actually recommend you picking up the last couple of issues of ASM because Dan Slott is looking to have a promising run on the series thus far. A few others I'd recommend you try are Matt Fraction writing on the main Thor book and Invincible Iron Man , Peter David's X-Factor, and Ed Brubaker on Captain America and Secret Avengers to name a few.

I may very well do a follow-up to this, especially because of what's going to happen when Shadowland is over. Halfway through that event, it was announced that Black Panther would be the new Man Without Fear.
