The American people need to get Angry, They need to bring the fight for their rights to a higher level, larger groups, stronger statements, bolder signs, joining the NRA is not enough.The NRA &GOA should join forces & set up some rally dates.People need to shut off the TV's & start networking to form larger groups for the next Pro Gun, 2nd amendment rally,The Fed Government has openly Attacked the Peoples Constitutional rights & Inalienable Birth Rights.People need to prepare for the Battle.

That quote was after the Revolution. If we give up our guns, we lose our power. Sure we could still elect people, but ultimately we would have no way to stop whatever the government wanted to do. Guessing what the person was trying to say is the fact that even if you outlaw guns it will have little to no effect on actual "murders". The reason he say's that is because every free county/democracy that guns have been banned or highly restricted actual murders have not went down, but have followed current trends, as well violent crime, robbery etc. actually went up and innocent people become victims. Also, those #'s count all gun related deaths including lawful and self defense usage.

Early Americans did not have a vote in the British parliament, but luckily they had guns. You're right, there are so many checks and balances it is highly unlikely that the US gov will go insane, but the 2nd amendment in itself is a check and balance, only to be used as a last resort defense of freedom. It ensures that at the end of the day, the people have the real power, not vote-greedy politicians.

Your power comes from your vote....not having a gun...unless of course you want to overthrow the (democratically elected) government. Also Hitler made himself into a Chancellor, a Dictator, with a dictatorial party...Here we have power separated between the Judiciary, executive and legislative branches to prevent this kind of thing from happening.
