Edmonton South Side Fire / 12 hours later...

"It looks like a war zone," said Edmonton Fire Chief Randy Wolsey.


Aftermath of a fire that destroyed a condo construction site and destroyed 18 townhouses and damaged another 76 nearby homes in Edmonton's south side.
Hundreds of residents were evacuated but no injuries were reported. Damages are estimated between 20 and 25 million dollars.

Wow! I now live in the new building of MacEwan Gardens Phase 2 and just recently heard of the fire that happened a few years ago...I had no idea it was in this very spot and that it was that bad! That is horrible.

Not sure about the contributers username... It was a 13 alarm fire. The condo building on the north side of McEwan road was okay. There are still today a few melted utility boxes but all the houses and the condo where the fire started have been rebuilt.
