debris flow | Clear Creek County, Colorado | Spring 2003

Debris flow video courtesy of Sue Cannon, landslide researcher with the US Geological Survey in Denver, Colorado.

This video was taken by a television crew from Denver next to Interstate 70 near the Eisenhower Tunnel that cuts beneath the continental divide. I was told by Ms. Cannon not to upload this video because of possible copyright violation, but I'm uncertain whether this was truly a request from the television station or Ms. Cannon's superior deflecting the possibility of any claims by the television station. So, if you are a representative of the television station who owns this video and you would like the video to be taken off of YouTube, please send me an email and I will do so. Please do not report me to YouTube because they may suspend/take down my channel. I've put too much work into this channel to have it simply dissappear. Thank you.

My factory in N Ireland is perched on the edge of a river which has washed away the bank due to debris flows and it has caused a 15 foot deep gully . It's normally a small stream, but when it's in flood, there are half ton rocks being carried like toys. Scary stuff really.
