First test sounds running the 248/232 cam swap in my otherwise stock ka24de with gutted cat and Apexi N1 3" catback exhaust and cold air intake. The intake cam is being run at 3 teeth retard.

  • What they're doing is advancing it 2.5 degrees from 4 teeth back. If you don't redrill I recommend 3 teeth.

  • @lbreevesii Ok. what i notice other people do is they advance the intake cam +2.5 degrees but anyways, how do you know where to drill on the intake cam. And temporarily until i find out where to drill the hole, would it be better to retard it 3 teeth or 4 teeth.

  • @shroom3r14 It gives more mid/high. You can kinda play with the power curve by adjusting the intake cam a bit.

eg: to run exhaust cam on intake you have to retard it 3-4 teeth from the normal timing mark. 3 is really a little too advanced, 4 a little too much. I eventually drilled the gear for 3.5 tooth retard and loved it. It smoothed out the idle and power was everywhere.
