The Shitings,Glororum Shad,Crumstone and Callers,Blue Caps,Clove Carr,Roddam and Green,Knivestone,Whirl Rocks! all weird and wonderfull names of the Farne Islands, that will reverberate around your inner conscience.I have spent many a happy weekend here when I used to Scuba Dive, ask anyone in the know and they will confirm the Islands legendary status,if your still not convinced type in Farne Islands Diving in YouTube! The diving around Knivestone/Whirl Rocks is simply sensational, numerous Wrecks, usually clear water, lots of sealife, spectacular underwater scenery, and a population of curious seals, all add up to a magical experience. This was the first installment of my North East Holy Trinity, followed by S.t Abbs, and Bass Rock. You may be pleased to hear I completed all three in near perfect conditions - a quite remarkable achievement given U.K. fickle weather! For this trip,I decided to launch at Stag Rocks, unwisely thinking it was closer to Inner Farne, than Seahouses - it's not,but on the return,I crossed to Megstone, and this was shorter.WARNING - of all the videos I've posted, the Farnes trip represents the most danger I think,I hate to say this ,but having been out there countless times in all manner of boats, and kissing the land like the Pope on return,I feel obliged to inform of said danger.Strong tides are present around all the Islands, and seem to run in opposing directions at times, there are two big crossings and it can get up very quickly with wind over tide, shelter can be had around Islands but the crossings are unavoidable, and are exposed to wind from any direction - choose your day very carefully!! It appears very easy what I did and indeed it was for the most part, but it can change out there very quickly.Another bit of info for you,the Harbour Authorities at Seahouses, think its fair game to charge indivduals £10 to launch a Kayak/canoe! I can assure you I don't,I only found this out later exploring the harbour. To be fair it does wear out that concrete slip if you keep lauching Kayaks though(ANOTHER £5 TO PARK YOUR CAR) Up the coast at Burnmouth,an individual appeared, with no uniform, receipt book,or credentials, waited until I unstrapped the boat, and promptly informed me it was £10 to launch, informing me that it was indeed a "Vessel" and it qualified, even though I informed him it has no engine, workings, doesn't represent danger to other users, has no registration requirement,no insurance liability, causes no wear,or pollution of air or water,if this is classed as a vessel then so would be a dingy, lilo, life ring e.t.c. - to no avail.Stiil didn't pay though. The music again is all my own work,Yamaha classical, double tracked with a bit of Keyboard to back up,recorded on the Boss Br600 - AS ALWAYS ENJOY.
Your vids are fantastic , just started kayaking cant wait to get out there in the wilds with friends thanks for the inspiration. Amazing vids, cheers.

@SPARKYGUSS Great care is needed out there, of all the places I've been, this is the one, that can be the most unpredictable. Whichever way the wind comes, it will cause a problem somewhere. Just choose a good day, a neap tide would help, and enjoy, it has a special, unique magic for me, the history, the wildlife, the challenge, and the personal memories from previous Dive Trips, years ago. On this outing, I did, The Farnes, St. Abbs, and Bass Rock in nr perfect conditions......

You gave the SS of the slip the slip AND no Seal Police encounter. Nice one. What they gonna get your for next? Tide taxes so they get you twice a day?

@onlywhenpissed They will be working on something now as we speak!! probably using Council Tax money,a small part of which will probably be" Ring-Fenced" in order to generate more misery for the populus! Revolution is in the Air!
