Scam Artist & Story Teller Robert Morey of Faith Defenders (or is that "Faith Defectors"), displaying his low regard for his listeners' intelligence, pumps out a lulu of a "conspiracy tale" about a "secret bank account" run by unfaithful stewards ripping off money from his "ministry." Since Morey believes Christians are "gullible" & lap up stuff like "dogs" (see other videos for documentation) he figures most will just accept what he has to say despite any credible evidence to back it up. Of course a lack of credible evidence has never bothered "Truth Seeker" Bob in the past so why should it now? Morey claims the Wessels brothers of Texas have looted his ministry by stealing vast sums of money through a so-called "secret bank account." Morey has told different witnesses different "embezzlement" amounts depending on who you talk to. To some Morey claims the Wessels stole over $300,000, to others it was $150,000, to others $100,000, & others various amounts under $100,000. Whatever the case, Morey says the Wessels did it through this "secret bank account." Unfortunately for Morey & his "embezzlement" theory, the bank records themselves tell a different story. Morey himself repeatedly received funds out of the so-called "secret bank account" showing that the account was no secret to Morey! Not only this but his other "evidence" is so phoney & shallow that only a fool who refuses to look at facts would believe it. Morey has gone through all this "fraud" work just to keep people from realizing that Morey was the one who defrauded the Wessels out of their $23,000 in loans to his ministry instead of the other way around. Morey's "secret bank account" scam could not only hide the truth but at the same time help Morey receive financial support & sympathy from an unsuspecting public. Morey realized that the penalties for mail fraud under federal law were not very stiff so he took the chance & went for it. Hank Hanegraaff, director of the Christian Research Institute & host of the "Bible Answer Man" radio show whose founder was Dr Walter Martin who was a frequent guest on the John Ankerberg Show says "Dr" Robert A. Morey of Faith Defenders, Biblical Thought, Faith Community Church (FCC), California Biblical University and Seminary (CBUS), Bob Morey Live, and Doxological Apologetics is dishonest & unscholarly. Hanegraaff's comments come in reference to a report Morey wrote in his national "Researcher" newsletter attacking Gregory A. Boyd, author of the book, "Oneness Pentecostals and the Trinity." Boyd's book was endorsed by Hanegraaff & the CRI staff. In a letter by Dr. Boyd he states, "..."Truth-Seeker Bob [Morey] went after me with a vengence. He was trying to prove Hank Hanegraaff was incompetent in endorsing my book by proving that I was a heretic on the basis of my former book "Trinity and Process". He sent letters around the country telling Christian distributors to stop selling my books because I was (among other things) a process theologian, that I denied the Incarnation, I denied the Trinity!!!, and I was, in short, a closet liberal. His tactics half worked as my book sales dropped significantly. I still get hassaling mail from people about this. Well, to make a long story short, I have never in my life encountered, or even imagined, such blatant malice, deceit, and vile ungodliness -- let alone in someone who taunts himself as a Christian leader. At first I thought this was just an extraordinarily dull person (I had never heard of him before) who couldn't read, who had an extraordinary meglomaniac streak which made him want to be a "scholar." Hence he looked silly. But, as the case wore on, I began to see that the situation was far worse. He 'had' to understand my work enough to know 'how' to distort it. And, I began to see, he had to be lying intentionally to be so consistent and manipulative with them. This man, I finally came to see, WAS EVIL. He's a megalomaniac with a vengence, and so far as I can see, not an ounce of honesty or integrity to curb it with. This man is, in my estimation, very bad for Christianity, and very dangerous." Since this video & the other 57 "truthseekerbobmorey" videos went on Youtube a year ago, Robert Albert Morey himself has left his church in California & returned, according to Wikipedia, back to Pennsylvania. Morey has not sued us or refuted anything we have said in these videos. He is under investigation by state & national authorities.
