  • The video states that Helen was marketed as the British Brenda Lee. I'm an American and grew up in the deep south. I am not trying to insult Brenda Lee in the least but Helen's sound is much more soothing to the listener. Brenda and Helen are not really in the same catagory, if you know what I mean. They are both incredible talents. I wonder if a complete clip of the Abbey Road recording session exists. Helen is incredible.

  • The Abbey Road clip came from a short 10 minute film called "A look at life" which was shown at cinema's in the 1960s. I dont have the full film, but I am keeping my eye out for it.

  • I think Helen Shapiro was great,My mum used to listen to a song called ,I dont care by her but I cant find it anywhere, thankyou for posting this, :)

  • I have put "I don't care" on YouTube. See HELEN SHAPIRO - I DON'T CARE.

  • Im a 53 yr old American just discovering this wonderful singer. I love Brenda Lee, but she can hold a candle to this vocal tigress! Im loving these videos.

  • @RockinEd Yes.Helen`s hits were with the Columbia label...which became part of the EMI Group.

  • @TheWhitehall but Norrie Paramour worked for EMI

  • @Dogsledfan she is an average looking woman, was then and is now. one of many average looking women in a crowd, but elegant now at this age!

  • @722erodz yes but not long enough. I like her very much.

  • Wow, she sure aged well.

  • wow...she just looks better and better with age

  • An error of judgement by Norrie P. Helen would have recorded a fine version of "Misery".....probably would have made the charts. Then again "DECCA" rejected the Beatles....now that was a MISTAKE.

  • great interview : ]

  • yes, hope helen records 'misery' soon. maybe on her new gospel cd.helen in 2010 rules. whoop-bah-oh-yeh-yeh!
