  • Blaming the suppliers of drugs for the actions of those who choose to distribute it is like blaming the manufacturer of axes for the actions of axe murderers.

Moreover, there's so much ambiguity surrounding the word 'thug', I think it's imperative that everyone gives their own definition of the word after they use it.

  • It's not illegal to sell axes, but is illegal to sell drugs. If there is a "war" on drugs then if your ever gonna "win" it you have to target the suppliers that's just common sense. As far as the ambiguity surrounding the word that is completely media driven, and at the end of the day just a word- it shouldn't be a word that defines a person on a whole. What made that person a Thug. Was it the environment, the lack of education, what?

  • Yes, if you want to halt the distribution of drugs in any respective nation, you'd ultimately want to stop the supply of drugs.

But that's not my point, I'm talking about individuals here, in your video you excused the behaviour of drug dealers by saying it's the fault of the suppliers.

Whether drugs are coming into the country or not does not in anyway excuse the behaviour of those who decide to sell it.

  • It's sold based on the conditions within that environment. No jobs, no education, no strong community structure, and poor self image. When they turn on the television the depictions of young black males and successful black males are athletes entertainers, and Hustlers.... So in households without fathers or positive men, kids will replace them with the men glorified on the television. Therefor the behavior should be excused when the environment is shaping the kids values.

  • I'm aware of all the things you've outlined and I understand your argument. But bad behaviour should never be excused, NEVER.

  • Agreed but to completely ignore what created the "bad" behavior is irresponsible, and cruel. I ask you this who has done more harm in america, thugs, and hustlers or wall street crooks and the credit lenders. It's funny how the adjective Thug conjures fear and anger, but Credit lender or wall street crook has no effect on the psyche. Bad behavior vs evil Behavior. Enron, Worldcom etc. ruined the life's of people who busted their asses for years to save, but yet the biggest threat is thugs

  • u got kids out there pretendin to be thugs not because they need to but because its cool. i say fuck that. the key is to take on responsibilities even if there not ur responsibilities. even if that means lookin after every womans child... i wrote this same comment on his page... did martin luther king have to speek his speaches.. did malcom x have to?.. he coulda stayed a drug dealer. but he reformed into sum1 for all of our benifits.. im all for mens rights. but a man is a man not a thug

  • to be honest man... the main point i think isnt to blame thugz... but to make sure people stop being thugz,, it all comes down to what people definition of a thug is... to me a thug is an under educated man who breaks moral rules against humanity for hes own selfish gains... that could be just about any1.. that thugtitian dude i smore about glorifying thugs than anything.. i wont even cal myself a thug even if i act like 1.. because the image of a thug is a cool thing these days..

  • True, the so called "War on Drugs" is an excuse to damage our people and strip us of our rights, not to mention unconstitutional since the Feds don't respect states' right. When drugs were legal, very few people messed with drugs. Sen. John Kerry risked his political career as a young politician in the 1980's to show that the CIA shoved crack cocaine in our streets. And Black women complain about not finding a man. We must make a financial base as you said; I am building one in Atlanta. Peace.

  • I think Thugtician has already stated that in the minds of many their image of the thug is a black man 12 yrs old and up. That's why he rejects it (and so do I).

Many people would classify people I know as "thugs" but would have NO idea what they did for a living. There is no workaround that these terms are used to marginalize certain "classes" of men and doesn't solve any real problems. It mostly serves to make certain men feel better about themselves.

  • Yes, every word is just a word, my point being, what "does the speaker mean" when he uses the word 'thug' because it appears that my definition of a 'thug' is completely different from many people on YouTube.

I have no idea why anyone would advocate for a 'thug'.
