Veterans of the 129th AHC are re-united with Huey 509 that flew with their unit from July 72 until October 73.

  • Got chills watching that clip...Fred Alvis and I go back 35 years. What is really sad is that the VA doesn't think that the job those guys did was dangerous and stressful enough to merit any consideration toward PTSD compensation. Maybe they should see this video and go ask the family of those 35 guys whose name is on the side of that Huey just how dangerous their job really was.

  • @n3kex Sorry to tell you this, but that's not correct. The hellhole is directly under the transmission where the cargo hook is mounted when installed and where you can access the bottom of the transmission. It was called the hellhole because is always ends up being the place where grease and fluids collect. The hellhole seats are the rear most seats in the cabin with your back to the transmission. 67N20 Huey crewchief.

  • heck thats one of the newer hueys,its a uh-1h,can tell by the little cargo door that swings out,the uh-1d had two window side slide door and was used to hall troops ,and thwe uh-1 a and b had one window slide door and was used more for a gun ship
