Though they live along the Passaic River, many Newark residents hardly know it's there: for decades, pollution and development have kept the people and the Passaic apart. But with the opening of Newark Riverfront Park, that's starting to change. Neighbor Nancy Zak tells the story of how The Trust for Public Land stepped in, and together with our partners the Ironbound Community Corporation, created Newark's first waterfront park to offer a green place to play and connection to the river.
