  • Thank you for the posting. One would think that I have seen everything out there my father has done or recorded yet, no. This is wonderful to watch.

    Peace,

    Greg Jolly

  • @greg1235150 Greg, your father was a genius. I have so many recordings including his lovely piano work that it would take a hundred lines to count. You're a lucky man.

  • I and my girlfriend talked with Teddy Edwards at Howard Rumsey's Lighthouse in Hermosa beach, CA one night back in the late 60s. He was playing with Gerald Wilson and his band. A very gracious and talented guy; he gave my girlfriend one of his albums.

  • Thanks for this posting..On one of my visits to LA from the Uk I had the privilege of meeting Pete Jolly at a venue in the 'Valley'His bass player was Chuck Berghofer whom I know was an integral member of Pete`s trio for many years and appears on this posting.

  • Teddy Edwards still has that sleepy look, marvelous.

  • Do you have more videos of pete jolly? Do you have whole dvd of this concert? Can you tell where to find this dvd or download on net?

  • Amazing tone & lines, this cat is part of jazzz history, Bop era, like Dexter Gordon & Wardell Gray.

  • Teddy Edwards was 77 years old in this 2001 session. Incredible !! He was known to be a "killer" on ballads like Stairway to the Stars, Laura, Imagination. This entire Stuttgart session is worth owning the available DVD. The excellent microphone selection/placement captures the hall acoustics and instruments.

  • Tenor man here never made it big but should have. Ovataion TV did a special on him a few days ago. Another example of under-appreciated talent and a tough life. Every bit as good as most of the more famous tenors.
