Raymond is playing the drum he made recently, the top made of red oak and walnut from the Ozarks, the sides of spruce, and the slap face of birch plywood. It's easy to carry; just grab it by the port where the sound comes out, and it weighs only 15#. Four little feet keep it off the floor to resonate better. It is sprayed with a clear finish to let the gnarly, figured wood grain shine. Bass sounds are closer to the center, while higher pitched bongo type sounds are around the edges. Any side will produce interesting sounds. It's 20 inches tall, so is a good height to sit on or to use as a table around the house. Take it anywhere rhythm is required. This one is pegged top and bottom for greater strength. http://www.raymondcreasy.com
