Before there was a Motown, The Miracles released singles on Chess and End records, I Need some Money was released as the b-side to "I Cry" on End records in 1958, it features Smokey and Claudette on lead vocals, it was suggested the Smokey and Claudette try a Mickey & Sylvia format because some saw The Miracles as a warmed over Platters

  • Smokey stated in an interview he always saw the Miracles becoming another Platters, yet he seemed to pick up more influence from Nolan Strong, lead of the Diablos.
