Instead assigning some sophomoric generalization to the man because he's gay, why not accept his several well-informed reasons for liking Northern California instead of assigning some "gay" motive? He doesn't live here to benefit from a city that invites its gay citizens to live openly without fear. (BTW, No one who lives here calls it Frisco.)

@TheRoyalFuzzybug Stephen Fry has been to Alaska and I've been to Alaska and it's very beautiful. However its too cold and the days are too long in the summer and the nights too long in the winter.
Also Alaskans have been known to elect politicians of questionable intelligence.
