I love how society progresses, personally the way I live my life is by working to advanced myself, to evolve myself, its led me to atheism & becoming a vegetarian, I suggest it as a good way of thinking to just look at the logic from science & ethical consistencies and judge your decisions in life and how to live it by that and not simply by what others tell you.
But if this type of thinking leads to realize "life is meaningless" don't worry, all you have to do is not care about that fact.

An inspiring video, because Carl Sagan can relate historical facts and scientific explanations in such an exciting and engaging manner!

@socratus1 using god to discribe nature is just distracting. nature has allready a name, use it.

All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree
- Einstein
What is it name?
The name of this tree is Vacuum
#
‘ It might even give us some ground to speculate that
the vacuum itself (and hence the universe) is ‘conscious’
# If we were looking for something that we could conceive
of as God within the universe of the new physics, this ground state, coherent quantum vacuum might be a good place to start - Book - The quantum self page 208 - Danah Zohar

@Cootabux How can it be supposed that belief in the existence of God is the acceptance of contradiction, whereas belief in the uncaused nature of an effect such as matter is not contradictory?
How could it be believed that matter should itself be the origin of millions of attributes and characteristics and thus be the equivalent of the purposeful, wise and all-knowing Creator?

I assure u that it isn't atheists and science that's deluded. No one more than the theist is fantasy prone. Millions of them declare their god exists but can't even agree on that god. What's more, they can''t remotely define it, but swear it's real!
And I don't know any scientist or atheist who has ever said he believes that particles create themselves, then everything else. The huge mistake theists make about the BB is that it's a creation event, rather than a natural, ongoing process?

I heard Carl Sagan use and explain his expression "star stuff" and I've never forgotten it, and it often comes to mind when ever the subject of Cosmology comes up.
138 people prefer medieval superstition even while they use a computer.
There sure are some dumb-ass motherfuckers in this world.
