nice hive. Im about to build one starting next week. I think Im going to take a thin sheet of wood and run it vertically from the bottom of the bar . that should reduce collapse and also give me some more strength if it get turned on its side while im checking the hive.

Interesting... you might be right. They did eventually swarm to a nearby tree but then returned because the clipped queen couldn't follow.

I think your hive was actually being robbed. I thought I saw some fighting on the front step there. Did they ever swarm?

thanks for sharing this great video Sir..not many have seen inside a hive before they swarm..could not believe it..such activity inside the hive..over here in ireland we never get a swarm until may..cold climate.......billy
